The introducing-series is a glimpse into how a piece of jewelry came to be. The idea, inspiration, the process, materials and techniques. Designing jewelry is an organic and physical process to me, and most designs come to be with a piece of silver in my hands, not from a sketch.
The Structure ring is inspired by mountain ranges- the raw and natural structure in landscapes. I often draw inspiration for shape and texture from nature and everyday objects- from majestic mountains to patterns in concrete. A mix between elements- the urban and the wild.
The texture and shape of the Structure ring is made by appying different pressure and angles to create specific patterns and shapes. While the top half of the ring is hammered, sawed, filed and altered from it's natural round shape, the botton half of the ring is kept round and smooth. Both as an interesting contrast aesthetically, and for comfortable wear.
